Has his roots in activism and a natural ADHD driven urge to explore and discover the world. He brings his experience from years of therapy, a clinic visit in the midst of the corona crisis, trauma and the loss of his brother in 2023.
A gentle note before we begin:
In this episode, you’ll hear our guest speak about their ADHD journey. We invite you to listen with openness, patience, and compassion. Every voice deserves space to be heard without interruption or assumption. Let this be a space where reflection doesn’t have to be polished to be powerful.
This episode moves like a slow unmasking—through diagnosis, activism, grief, and growth.
We Spoke About:
How writing, journaling, and blogging serve as therapeutic tools for managing ADHD symptoms
JayJay’s ADHD diagnosis in 2022 and how it helped explain juggling multiple projects simultaneously
Balancing activism with personal well-being, including experiences with burnout and setting boundaries
Navigating the chaos of daily life with ADHD and autism, and learning to respect one’s pace
Personalized coping strategies, including somatic practices, movement, and self-compassion
The interplay between grief, advocacy, and finding joy in small, everyday moments
The power of words in advocacy, through blogs and collaborative projects like their German-language children’s book on neurodiversity
“Healing isn’t a checklist. It’s a slow return to self.”
Inside this episode, we talk about:
Managing ADHD while pursuing multiple passions
The challenges of instant gratification versus delayed outcomes
Activist burnout and the importance of self-care
How childhood experiences and neurodivergence shape daily interactions and routines
The journey through COVID, self-discovery, and learning to focus on achievable goals
Grief, loss, and finding gratitude while advocating for change
This wasn’t just a conversation—it was a soft exhale.
A reminder: You’re allowed to pause, reflect, and come back when you’re ready. Take it tab by tab.
PS: JayJay, I’m looking forward to reading your next blog, and I’m grateful for the chance to hear your story. Keep writing, keep advocating, keep taking up space—the world needs your perspective.
